From the recording The Ghost of You
This is the first single from our new album Kartoon World... and it's not just an album, it's a CONCEPT ALBUM! This could be the next 'Dark Side of the Moon' - and I hear you say 'Hopefully not another Tales From Topographic Oceans'!
The album spans a 50 year time period between 1980 and 2030. There is a central message - the same one it has always been - If we can base our lives on love instead of hate, sustainability instead of destruction, people instead of money - then the world will automatically become a better place.
We hope this single takes you to a better place and thank you for coming on this journey with us.
Lyrics
You're staring at me, your eyes are lead
You speak a language, that's cold and dead
I call your name out, but you're not you
We're lost in bad dream
And I've got nothing to bargain with
Your sculptured face, set in amethyst
You walk straight at me, but you're not here
You're part of the slipstream
Yes I'm in love with the ghost of you
But I just can't seem to hold you
You're always passing through
Yes I'm in love with the ghost of you
But I just can't seem to hold you
You're always passing through
...passing through
...passing through
If there was one thing, that I could do
If time would move me, back in towards you
But time's an arrow, that whistles past, and turns
Present to history
CHORUS
Nothing hurts like
Nothing left
What once was more
Once more is less
Nothing hurts like
Nothing left
...nothing left ...nothing left
REPEAT
CHORUS
