From the recording Kartoon World

This tune was shaped by the songs that accompanied the 60's Peace movement, and the many copies that have arrived since, including this one!
Obviously inspired by Lennon and The Beatles, but there is also a little nod to Primal Scream's 'Loaded', plus some rhythmic inspiration from 'Moving On Up'.

Lyrics

Al Steele/James Warren

We're gonna start a revolution
Uh-huh, one that grows inside our hearts
Let's work for a new solution
Uh-huh, 'cause something's 'bout to change
I sense a mighty wave
We don't want to fight for lower tax
We just want to win the good stuff back
and we are...

Bringing back the spirit of love to the world
all over the world, people are
Bringing back the spirit of love to the world
And they're giving it back to you

Are you gonna join the party?
Uh-huh, but you gotta lay down your hate
I think you'll find now we've started
Uh-huh, You never ever get enough
When you build your house on love
We don't need a seer to see what's wrong
We just need a revolution song
'one song that's...

CHORUS

Are you in?... Or are you out?
It's time to stand up, wake up the world and shout
Are you free?... Or are you a slave?
A slave to that big money machine we made

SOLO
CHORUS

Bringing back the spirit of love
All over the world

Are you in?... Or are you out?
It's time to stand up, wake up the world and shout
Are you free?... Or are you a slave?
A slave to that big money machine we made

We stand on the edge of a disaster
Armed only with a red Stratocaster
One love and one voice is our weapon
We're ramping up, we're standing up
For the people been forgotten for so long now
Waking up shake it up we're getting strong now
We're tired of the lies and the spin
Let's talk about... Let's talk about LOVE
