James Warren/Al Steele

James had been checking out the new album by The 1975, and brought a VERY funky loop into play. Meanwhile Al had been thinking of introducing quad sound live, and loops like this were the very thing that would hit those speakers. That is how we began...

This song was so obviously a dance-floor song, and the early demo shamelessly reflects that. Of course The Korgis needed to pull it into their territory - but we still secretly would like to see the whole audience jumping up and down to this one!

Lyrics

You're staring at me, your eyes are lead
You speak a language, that's cold and dead
I call your name out, but you're not you
We're lost in bad dream
And I've got nothing to bargain with
Your sculptured face, set in amethyst
You walk straight at me, but you're not here
You're part of the slipstream

Yes I'm in love with the ghost of you
But I just can't seem to hold you
You're always passing through
Yes I'm in love with the ghost of you
But I just can't seem to hold you
You're always passing through
...passing through
...passing through

If there was one thing, that I could do
If time would move me, back in towards you
But time's an arrow, that whistles past, and turns
Present to history

CHORUS

Nothing hurts like
Nothing left
What once was more
Once more is less
Nothing hurts like
Nothing left
...nothing left ...nothing left
REPEAT

CHORUS
